In which case, I decided to I bring along a selection of woven pieces as well as the loom it's self and the tools and equiptment needed to create a length of fabric. Villagers had the opportunity to see the process of creating a fabric, from design ideas to finishing techniques as well as learn simple weaving patterns such as plain weave, twill and honeycomb. Many villagers knew a great deal about weaving from their own experiences in working in Cotton mills, many years ago, so I was delighted to learn of their tales and add to my knowledge of the industry's history. Over all it was a superb afternoon and I plan to organise further "weaving"events for later this year.
Thank-you to all those who were able to come along to support me on the day and to my Auntie Lizzie, for being a great photographer.
