Yarn investigation

During a tutorial I came across the idea of using luminescent glow yarns with in my weft yarns. These would create a change in colour and represent the reflection of light on the glassy surfaces of the arcitecture. I found the following website to stock such yarns and hope to go on to order and investigate these further.

Focus for the week

This week I am focusing on researching my initial colour pallet and possible yarns to explore. Also I have chosen to contextualize the idea of opical effects, taken from the illusions on the glass, where it appears that there are buildings within buildings, due to the reflections on the glass.

Another area to consider is the Bauhas designs. To begin to think about structure, colour and scale.

I want to go onto think about heat molding and glow yarns to reflect the lines of the buildings and the glass and colours.

Canary Whalf Architecture

Yesturday I travelled to London to visit Canary Whalf, the glass structures are a fantasic source of inspiration for the design of my weave.
